Andy Dalton reassured by Marvin Lewis

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton is reassured by coach Marvin Lewis that his place in the side is not under threat despite another poor playoff performance.

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton has been reassured by head coach Marvin Lewis that his place in the team is not under threat.

Dalton suffered another playoff meltdown during Sunday's 27-10 loss to the San Diego Chargers, committing three turnovers to contribute to the Bengals' third consecutive playoff defeat.

However, his record in the regular season has been impressive ever since he was drafted in 2011, and after talks with Lewis, he still anticipates a long stay with the team.

"I've got a lot of confidence in the stuff that Marvin's been telling me. I expect to be here for a long time. I'm hoping that's the case," Dalton told reporters.

"I've got a good relationship with Marvin. Marvin's been telling me a lot of good stuff. Yeah, it's unfortunate that we lost this game, but we've been able to improve every year I've been here."

Dalton is 0-3 with six interceptions and one touchdown pass in the playoffs, while his total quarterback rating is only 17.9.
