Chicago Bears win but miss playoffs

A win for the Chicago Bears was not enough to send them to the playoffs.

The Chicago Bears missed out on the final playoff place in the NFC despite beating the Detroit Lions 26-24.

The Bears looked comfortable in the first two quarters, taking a 20-10 lead at half-time.

Matt Forte rushed for over 100 yards and scored a touchdown, despite carrying an ankle injury.

Touchdowns from Will Heller and Brian Robiskie got the Lions back in to the game.

The Bears held on for a narrow win, which ended the New York Giants' hopes of making the playoffs and defending their Super Bowl title.

However, Chicago needed the Green Bay Packers to beat the Minnesota Vikings to clinch the playoff berth, but the Vikings won.
