Chicago Bears head coach Marc Trestman believes that he kept injured quarterback Jay Cutler for too long in the game during his side's defeat to the Detroit Lions.
Cutler showed signs that he was struggling with a groin injury throughout the contest and was eventually replaced by backup Josh McCown for the two-minute drill, which almost got the Bears level late in the match.
"I went through the tape closely this morning and watched Jay's performance, and I thought he did well into the fourth quarter," Trestman said on WBBM.
"But at the end of the day, if we had to do it all over again, maybe it would be one series before the two-minute drill [that Cutler comes out]."
The Bears are 5-4 in their season following their loss to the Lions.
