Marc Trestman: 'Chicago Bears could have lost first two games'

Chicago Bears head coach Marc Trestman says that there is a thin line between winning and losing in the NFL.

Marc Trestman has said that the Chicago Bears could have easily lost their first two games of the 2013 NFL season.

The NFC North side beat the Cincinnati Bengals by three points in the opening game of the season before securing a one-point victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

The head coach told the team's website: "It's extremely thin. In the National Football League, it's very thin. You can see it. We're two or three plays away from sitting here on the opposite side of both games, no doubt about it.

"You've got to play them all for 60 minutes and if you keep playing you hope good things can happen. I think that's what we get out of it.

"Our guys are playing smart, they're playing disciplined, and they're giving themselves a chance to win games in the fourth quarter. That's all you really want to do in the National Football League. You're seldom going to blow anybody out."

The Bears travel to the Pittsburgh Steelers at the weekend.
