Cam Newton has been handed a $21,000 (£13,000) fine for abusive conduct towards a game official.
The Carolina Panthers quarterback bumped into referee Jerome Boger while arguing with the official over an on-field call during their game against the Oakland Raiders last Sunday.
The 23-year-old was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct following the incident, before apologising to Boger.
Boger did not eject Newton from the game as he said that he did not believe the hit was of a malicious nature.
