Kansas City Chiefs come from behind to remain unbeaten

The Kansas City Chiefs remain perfect but are forced to come from behind to record a 23-13 victory over the Buffalo Bills in the NFL.

The Kansas City Chiefs were forced to come from behind against the Buffalo Bills this evening, maintaining their perfect start to the NFL season with a 23-13 victory.

The hosts went ahead late in the first quarter when Jeff Tuel, starting due to injuries to EJ Manuel and Thad Lewis, threw a perfect pass to Marquise Goodwin, who had a clear run into the end zone to complete a 59-yard touchdown.

The Chiefs announced themselves on the scoreboard midway through the second quarter when Ryan Succop hit a 27-yard field goal, but Dan Carpenter responded with a kick of his own to restore his side's seven-point lead.

The Bills made a poor start to the second half, however, as Tuel threw an interception on the Chiefs' five-yard line that allowed Sean Smith to return it 100 yards for a touchdown.

Succop added another three points with his boot to put the Chiefs ahead for the first time in the match, but Carpenter restored parity with a 30-yard field goal 20 seconds from the end of the third quarter.

Buffalo handed the initiative back to the Chiefs by conceding a second defensive touchdown as TJ Graham fumbled Tuel's pass while being tackled by Marcus Cooper, allowing Tamba Hali to pick it up and run 11 yards into the endzone.

Succop added a 39-yard field goal late on to open up a 10-point gap between the sides, and that was enough for the Chiefs to see out the victory and move to 9-0 for the season.
