The Buffalo Bills have placed quarterback Kevin Kolb on injured reserve ending his season.
Kolb suffered a concussion in the Bills' pre-season clash against the Washington Redskins and did not return to practice in the days after the game.
The 29-year-old has a history of concussion dating back to his days at the Philadelphia Eagles and the Arizona Cardinals, and it is feared that this recurrence could end his career.
Doug Marrone's side are expected to start with undrafted rookie quarterback Jeff Tuel in week one against the New England Patriots, as knee surgery will reportedly keep first-round pick EJ Manuel out of the game.
Buffalo also placed wide receiver Brad Smith and running back Drew Smith on injured reserve.
