Report: Joe Flacco doesn't need MRI scan

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco will not require an MRI scan on his injured left knee, according to reports.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco will not undergo an MRI scan on the injury to his left knee, according to reports.

Flacco took a direct hit to the knee from Detroit Lions linebacker DeAndre Levy during the fourth quarter of Monday night's 18-16 win for the Ravens.

The reigning Super Bowl MVP was treated by medical personnel on the sideline before returning to the game to lead the Ravens upfield on a drive that ultimately resulted in the match-winning field goal.

Flacco is likely to take part in limited practice this week as a precaution, but the Ravens don't believe that the injury is serious enough to warrant an MRI and fully expect the 28-year-old to play in Sunday's match against the New England Patriots.

"He fought through that. Joe Flacco is one tough guy. He's a great player in crunch time," Ravens coach John Harbaugh is quoted as saying by ESPN.

The Ravens are currently one win behind the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC North with just two games remaining.
