John Harbaugh impressed by Elvis Dumervil

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh admits that he has been impressed by linebacker Elvis Dumervil during training camp.

John Harbaugh has said that Elvis Dumervil has surpassed his expectations during the Baltimore Ravens' pre-season.

The linebacker joined the Super Bowl champions earlier this year, having been released by the Denver Broncos because of an administrative error.

The head coach told reporters: "Just personally, I didn't know Elvis until he got here. [Inside linebackers coach] Don Martindale knew him really well, and Don talked a lot about him, what a great guy he was, and a hard worker, and how much we would really like him.

"I would say it's far beyond the descriptions I got, just that much better of a guy, a pro, a player. He's in there at least three times a day, taking care of himself with the stretching and the different things we do for recovery. That's what a pro does. [He] practices so hard.

"I really think between he and [Terrell] Suggs and [Courtney] Upshaw, and the other pass rushers, but he's kind of leading the way, he's made our offensive tackles that much better just by the way he practices."

Dumervil made 54 tackles, 11 sacks and six forced fumbles for the Broncos last season.
