The Atlanta Falcons have announced that Jason Snelling will not play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers later today.
The running back, who has scored three touchdowns this season, was arrested earlier this week for possession of marijuana.
Head coach Mike Smith told the team's official website: "We are disappointed in what has transpired over the last 48 hours concerning Jason Snelling. Any time one of our players is involved in an off the field incident we take it very seriously.
"Jason missed practice on Friday. After speaking with him yesterday, Jason has decided to take some personal time to deal with his situation and will miss tomorrow's game. We anticipate him rejoining our team Monday morning."
The Falcons currently sit third in the NFC South with a 2-7 record.
