Mike Smith: 'Ryan Tannehill is much improved'

Atlanta Falcons head coach Mike Smith believes that Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill has improved during his second season in the NFL.

Mike Smith has said that he expects a "much improved" Ryan Tannehill when the Miami Dolphins face the Atlanta Falcons this weekend.

The 2012 NFC South champions will play against the Dolphins' second-year quarterback for the first time on Sunday.

The head coach told reporters: "I think he is a much improved quarterback. He hasn't played quarterback a long time, he was a wide receiver for much of his career at Texas A&M.

"He's got outstanding speed, can extend plays and has a 55 plus yard arm. He's got a world class speed wide receiver in Mike Wallace. He's done a very good job and he looks more comfortable in their offense.

"In the first game, Brian Hartline seemed to be his main target, Chris Clay in both games, and Mike Wallace in the second game. They've got some guys that can do things after the catch."

The Dolphins have won both of their games so far this season, while the Falcons have one win and one loss.
