Atlanta Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez has admitted that he could play on but feels that he has to retire at the end of the season.
The 37-year-old has been in the NFL for 17 seasons and was drawn back to the Falcons for one more attempt at winning at Super Bowl that had eluded him throughout his career, but due to his side missing the playoffs he will call it a day after week 17.
"I absolutely could [play on]," Gonzalez told the Bay Area News Group. "But it's the end of the road for me. I put everything out there and I'm completely satisfied. I don't have any regrets and I look forward to what's next."
Gonzalez has recorded 1,313 receptions for 15,008 yards along with 110 touchdowns in his career.
