Tyrann Mathieu plans to return to training sooner rather than later

Injured Arizona Cardinals tight end Tyrann Mathieu believes that his return to training is only a matter of weeks away following injuries to both his ACL and LCL.

Arizona Cardinals tight end Tyrann Mathieu has revealed that he expects to return to training in the next few weeks.

The player is currently listed on the team's unable to perform list, with Mathieu recovering from an operation to help repair a torn ACL and LCL.

"I expect to be at practice the next two to three weeks," Mathieu told the team's official website.

"Hopefully we can stick to that timetable."

Despite his optimism, the Cardinals had previously given indications that they don't expect Mathieu to return to action until week five of the new NFL season.
