The Arizona Cardinals have completed the signing of kicker Dan Carpenter on a one-year deal.
Carpenter only recently became a free agent after the Miami Dolphins opted to go for rookie Caleb Sturgis ahead of him for the upcoming season.
The 27-year-old had been at the Dolphins since 2008 when he ousted current Cardinals kicker Jay Feely from the squad, and the pair are to compete for number one kicking duties once again following Carpenter's arrival.
Feely enjoyed the better record out of the two last season, hitting 25 of his 28 field goal efforts compared to 22 successful attempts out of 27 for Carpenter.
However, Carpenter is a former Pro Bowl player and is capable of kicking long distances, as shown by his franchise-leading 60-yard kick for the Dolphins in 2010.
