Rafael Nadal has said that he did not take his chances during his Barcelona Open defeat to Nicolas Almagro earlier today.
The defending champion, who had won his previous 41 matches at the event, was beaten 2-6 7-6 6-4 by his compatriot in the quarter-finals.
The world number one told Sky Sports News: "I had a lot of chances in the second set when I had the match more controlled but I didn't take them.
"As the match went on I was less calm but I still had openings in the third set at 3-1 and at 4-4 which I didn't take."
Nadal's only previous loss at Barcelona came during his debut at the event as a 15-year-old.
