Andy Murray: 'Clay Davis Cup final good for Great Britain'

Andy Murray is confident that Great Britain will be able to handle playing on clay in the final of the Davis Cup against Belgium.

Andy Murray has insisted that Belgium's choice of a clay court for the Davis Cup final suits Great Britain.

It was confirmed this morning that clay would be the surface for the final between November 27 and 29 at the Flanders Expo in Ghent.

Belgium are thought to have picked clay as it is Murray's weakest surface, but the world number three is confident that GB can perform on the slowest of tennis court.

The Scot tweeted: "So Ghent on the Clay for the davis cup final...very pumped! Think clay is a good surface for us👍 looking forward to it🏆"

Great Britain are in the final for the first time in 37 years, but all of their recent matches have been played on either hard or grass courts.
