Stephen Ward: 'I've had no contact with Wolverhampton Wanderers'

Brighton & Hove Albion defender Stephen Ward reveals that he has had no contact with parent club Wolverhampton Wanderers regarding his future at Molineux.

Brighton & Hove Albion defender Stephen Ward has insisted that he is focused on achieving a playoff position with the Championship club.

Ward is on a season-long loan deal from Wolverhampton Wanderers, and the League One outfit's potential return to the second tier of English football could see the Republic of Ireland international kept at Molineux next season.

However, the left-back has revealed that he has had no contact from his parent club, and that he is concentrating on attempting to help Brighton win promotion to the Premier League.

The 28-year-old told BBC Sussex: "My main focus is on getting us into the playoffs. Whatever happens in the summer will be up to Wolves and people in the background.

"I'm sure they are concentrating on getting promoted. I've had a really good year down here and really enjoyed it. I'm an Albion player at the minute and enjoying my football."

Ward has made 40 appearances during his time at Brighton.
