Ashley Williams disappointed with Manchester City defeat

Swansea City defender Ashley Williams admits that he was frustrated to lose to Manchester City after putting in a good performance at the Etihad Stadium.

Swansea City captain Ashley Williams has revealed that he was disappointed to leave their match against Manchester City with a defeat, despite a good performance.

The Swans took an early lead at the Etihad Stadium through Wilfried Bony, but City battled back to win the game with strikes from Stevan Jovetic and Yaya Toure to inflict a fourth defeat of the season on Garry Monk's men.

"It's one of our best performances at Manchester City," Williams told the club's official website. "We left with nothing which is disappointing but we worked hard and fell just short at the end.

"You can see the progress we have made from the first time we played at Manchester City. The most important thing is to take the positives from it.

"The pleasing thing is that even at the very end we were creating chances. And for their fans to be calling for the final whistle shows how much of a game we gave them."

Swansea are seventh in the Premier League with 18 points from their 12 matches.
