Tottenham Hotspur consider making a £43m move for Feyenoord forward Santiago Gimenez next summer, according to a report.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly weighing up a €50m (£43m) move for Feyenoord forward Santiago Gimenez.

The 22-year-old has been in excellent form for his Dutch club during the 2023-24 campaign, scoring 12 goals and registering two assists in nine appearances in all competitions.

In total, the Mexico international has managed 35 goals and five assists in 54 appearances for his current side since making the move to the Netherlands from Cruz Azul last year.

Feyenoord have the forward on a contract until June 2027, but the Dutch outfit accept that they will find it difficult to keep hold of him due to the growing interest in his services.

Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan are all believed to be interested in purchasing the forward during next summer's transfer window.

However, according to La Repubblica, Tottenham are also keen, with the North London giants still looking to bring in a replacement for Harry Kane following the England captain's move to Bayern Munich.

The report claims that Feyenoord would listen to offers of around €50m (£43m) for the Mexican, who has scored four times in 21 caps for his country.

Gimenez is currently with the Mexico squad on international duty, featuring as a late substitute in the team's 2-0 win over Ghana in a friendly on Saturday.

The centre-forward will now be bidding to be involved in the national side's next friendly against Germany in the United States on Tuesday.

Tottenham have been excellent this season under the management of Ange Postecoglou, with the capital giants entering the international break top of the Premier League table on 20 points.

No European football has allowed them to focus on domestic matters, and they have won six and drawn two of their opening eight league games of the 2023-24 campaign.

In the absence of Kane, Son Heung-min has taken on the goalscoring burden, netting six times in nine appearances, while four players - James Maddison, Cristian Romero, Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski - are on two goals.

There is a need for another centre-forward to arrive at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and Gimenez appears to have been identified as the leading option.

However, Tottenham are likely to have to secure Champions League football for the 2024-25 campaign to stand a chance of signing him ahead of a number of major European clubs.
