Tottenham Hotspur pull out of a proposed move for Porto attacker Ze Luis, according to a report.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly pulled out of a proposed move for Porto striker Ze Luis due to work permit issues.

Jose Mourinho's side were linked with a swoop for the Cape Verde international on Wednesday as they look for another option in the final third, with Harry Kane out until April following a hamstring operation.

However, according to the Daily Mail, having held talks over a move for the 28-year-old, it became clear that securing his signature would prove 'too problematic'.

The report notes that securing a work permit would have been too difficult as he does not hold a Portuguese passport, leading to Tottenham exploring other options as they attempt to bring in a new forward.

Ze Luis has been in impressive form for Porto during the 2019-20 campaign, scoring eight times in 20 appearances in all competitions.

Spurs, who have also been linked with AC Milan's Krzysztof Piatek, will attempt to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they travel to Watford on Saturday afternoon.
