Ivan Rakitic is reportedly open to seeing out the remainder of his Barcelona contract, which is due to expire in 2021.

Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic would reportedly prefer to see out his contract at Camp Nou.

Having fallen down the pecking at the Catalan giants, Rakitic has been made available by club officials as they bid to boost Barcelona's financial position.

Since the beginning of the month, Tottenham Hotspur have allegedly emerged as the favourites to secure a deal for the Croatia international.

However, according to Marca, the 32-year-old is open to remaining at the La Liga leaders until the end of next season.

The report suggests that Rakitic would like to have his pick of clubs as a free agent, rather than be left to choose between teams willing to pay a transfer fee for his services.

The player is said to be against making the switch to Juventus, who are also monitoring the situation.
