Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino says that his side "fully deserved" their "massive" win over Burnley.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has praised his side for delivering a "massive" result after they took all three points against Burnley this afternoon.

Spurs were made to wait until injury time for the breakthrough at a rain-soaked Wembley, when substitute Christian Eriksen fired home with seconds remaining.

"[The victory was] fully deserved," Pochettino told reporters afterwards. "We know very well that we need to play for 90 minutes plus all of the injury time. We didn't concede one chance or shot on target. The victory is a massive one for us.

"We are in a very good position. That is the reality after 17 games - 39 points, we are third in the table. That is a massive achievement for us. We are there, we are close. In football all is possible.

"Look what happened in the Champions League after three games only one point and nobody believed. We believed it was possible and in the end we believed and now are in the next stage of the competition."

The result sees Pochettino's side move to five points off leaders Manchester City with a five-point lead over fourth-placed Chelsea, who are in action tomorrow.
