Paulinho disappointed by defeat at West Ham United

Paulinho admits that Saturday's 2-0 defeat at West Ham was a 'difficult day' for him and his Spurs teammates.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Paulinho has admitted that Saturday's defeat at West Ham United was a 'difficult day' for the team.

Spurs, who had Younes Kaboul sent off early on at Upton Park, were beaten comfortably by their London rivals as a Harry Kane own goal and Stewart Downing's free kick separated the sides.

"It was difficult after losing Younes," Paulinho told the club's official website. "Also, for the second goal, we made a mistake, myself and [Emmanuel Adebayor]. We spoke in the dressing room and that was a big mistake. We know that.

"It was tough to create chances. We had the ball but when you only have 10 men it's difficult. That's football. We have to look forward and try to win the last game."

Spurs' final game of the season sees them host Aston Villa at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
