Francesco Totti hails Gervinho

Roma captain Francesco Totti says that his side's 3-1 win over Hellas Verona has boosted their hopes of winning the title.

Roma captain Francesco Totti has praised Gervinho for his performance during the club's 3-1 win over Hellas Verona at the weekend.

The Giallorossi cut the gap on league leaders Juventus to six points, and Totti believes that the victory has proved their title credentials.

"In Verona we have given a strong signal in the championship and a positive boost to the ranking," Totti told his official website. "And what a game played by Gervinho! He is always working and he is unpredictable, he can lead to a dangerous situation at any time.

"We will not drop in the matches in the coming weeks, the Coach is good at managing our energy, we will take turns in the XI on the field and on the bench.

"It is my duty to be always ready when called upon, while it was nice to come in and score."

Roma are next in action when they host Parma in Serie A on Sunday.
