Edin Dzeko delighted to open Roma account

Roma striker Edin Dzeko says that he is delighted to have scored his first goal for the club following the 2-1 win over Juventus.

Edin Dzeko has expressed his delight over opening his account for Roma in this evening's 2-1 win over Italian champions Juventus.

The 29-year-old added to Miralem Pjanic's 61st-minute opener as the striker - on loan from Manchester City - marked his home debut in style at the Stadio Olimpico.

"It's a fantastic feeling. It was just pure emotion, so much emotion in one goal," he told the Giallorossi's official website.

"I had been waiting for my first goal in Serie A and it happened today. So I'm happy for myself, the team and the fans. I believe we all deserved this victory today."

Paulo Dybala struck in the closing minutes but it was not enough as Rudi Garcia's side, who finished second behind the Bianconeri last term, drew first blood.
