Both Gary Neville and Gary Lineker take to Twitter to reveal their unhappiness at Brian McDermott's departure from Reading.

Former England internationals Gary Neville and Gary Lineker have both expressed their disappointment at Reading's decision to part company with Brian McDermott.

The 51-year-old was sacked earlier today with the club second from bottom in the Premier League table.

Despite the team's negative position, Neville and Lineker both believe that McDermott should have been kept on at the Madejski Stadium.

James Ducker, a reporter from The Times, had this message on Twitter retweeted by ex Manchester United full-back Neville: "Brainless and depressing decision to sack Brian McDermott. I ******* loathe football sometimes."

Neville followed that up with a message of his own that read: "That last RT really does sum up my last ten minutes feelings!"

Meanwhile, Lineker added: "Rubbish decision to fire Brian McDermott. A victim of his own success."

Paolo Di Canio has been installed as the early favourite to replace the departing McDermott.
