Reading's Yakubu targets first FA Cup Wembley appearance

Yakubu targets his first Wembley appearance in the FA Cup final with Reading after helping the Championship side reach the quarter-finals.

Reading striker Yakubu is hopeful of making it all the way to the FA Cup final at Wembley after helping the Championship club to victory over Derby County in the fifth round.

The 32-year-old, who signed for the Royals on deadline day, came off the bench to net the winning goal in Reading's 2-1 triumph on Saturday.

The Nigerian spent four years at Everton, but failed to make his Wembley debut in the 2009 FA Cup final defeat to Chelsea due to an Achilles injury.

"I have never played at Wembley, so I hope we get there," the Daily Star quotes Yakubu as saying. "You have to believe that a team from outside the Premier League can get there. If you don't believe, you are not going to do it."

Reading will discover who their quarter-final opponents are in this evening's draw.
