Queens Park Rangers director of football Les Ferdinand hit by FA misconduct charge

QPR director of football Les Ferdinand is charged with misconduct by the FA after allegedly abusing match officials in the aftermath of the 2-1 defeat to Spurs.

Queens Park Rangers director of football Les Ferdinand has been charged with misconduct by the Football Association in relation to Saturday's match with Tottenham Hotspur.

The former England striker is alleged to have used abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour towards match officials in the aftermath of the 2-1 defeat at Loftus Road.

A Harry Kane double earned Spurs the London derby spoils, but the Hoops were angry over referee Craig Pawson's failure to award them penalties for Hugo Lloris's foul on Mauricio Isla and an apparent Nabil Bentaleb handball.

Ferdinand, who used to play for both QPR and Spurs and only left his role on the backroom staff at White Hart Lane in the summer, is believed to have confronted the officials in the tunnel following the final whistle.

The 48-year-old, who was promoted to director of football at Rangers in February after initially joining the club as a consultant, has until 6pm on March 13 to respond to the charge.
