Salvatore Sirigu knew two victims of Paris massacre

Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu reveals that he lost two people close to him in the recent terror attacks which rocked Paris.

Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu has revealed that he personally knew two of the people who died during Friday's terror attacks in Paris.

The French capital is still reeling from a spate of bombings and shootings last week which resulted in the death of 129 people.

"I've lost two lads who I knew very well," the 28-year-old Italian told Rai Sports. "Two lads with Italian roots who ran their business with passion.

"Some of us, like [Marco] Verratti and Maxwell, were regulars at their restaurant and to lose two people who were part of our serenity off the football field is difficult to accept."

Sirigu is not the only footballer affected by the tragedy, with France midfielder Lassana Diarra revealing that his cousin Asta Diakite was among the fatalities.

His fellow Les Bleus teammate Antoine Griezmann also said that his sister escaped unharmed from the Bataclan theatre, where 89 people died.
