Alex Neil: 'Norwich City have to bounce back from Newcastle United defeat'

Norwich City boss Alex Neil insists that his side have to respond from their hammering at the hands of Newcastle United against West Bromwich Albion at Carrow Road.

Norwich City boss Alex Neil has called on his side to bounce back from their heavy defeat at the hands of Newcastle United against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

The Canaries were crushed 6-2 in their match at St James' Park as Neil's men could not stop Georginio Wijnaldum from finding the net four times over the course of the contest.

Neil is adamant that his team have to show their mettle to respond to the loss by taking three points from their clash against the Baggies.

"It is the heaviest defeat I have experienced as a manager, so you have to stick your chest out and make sure in the next game you go and perform a lot better and hopefully go and win," Neil told reporters.

"It is just going to be about getting the balance right, because our attacking play at Newcastle was good, but defensively we did not do well enough and have to make sure we address that as we best as we can.

"At this level, you have to make sure you have that attacking threat, but also keep the back door shut, but that is much more easily said than done."

Norwich are 16th in the Premier League ahead of their match against West Brom at Carrow Road.
