Borussia Dortmund's Klopp "not afraid" of losing Lewandowski to Man United

Jurgen Klopp says that he is unaware of any deal between Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United over the transfer of striker Robert Lewandowski next summer.

Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp has insisted that he is "not afraid" of losing striker Robert Lewandowski to Manchester United at the end of the season.

A report in the German media on Monday claimed that the two clubs have agreed on a £12m deal over the transfer of the 24-year-old next summer.

Klopp says that he is not aware of the deal and that Lewandowski will stay with them for the rest of the season.

"I've no idea," the Daily Mail quotes the 45-year-old as saying. "I'm not afraid he is going to be leaving us.

"Manchester United is one of many clubs that are going to be showing an interest in him. But the fact remains the contract is with us.

"The time when there were big, rich English clubs coming to lure German players away - thank God those times are over. No, I'm not afraid I'll be losing him and in the second half of the season he'll be with us."

Lewandowski's current contract with Dortmund runs out in June 2014.
