Bryan Robson wants rousing reception for Darren Fletcher

Bryan Robson hopes that former Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher receives a warm reception when he returns to Old Trafford with West Brom.

Manchester United legend Bryan Robson is hopeful that West Bromwich Albion midfielder Darren Fletcher receives a warm reception on his return to Old Trafford.

On Saturday, the Scot will face his former club for the first time since leaving in January, ending a 12-year spell with the Red Devils.

Asked if he will be well received by his old fans, Robson told the club's official website: !I'm absolutely sure about that. Darren was a great professional for this club, a great player who gave 100% in everything he did.

"He was a good lad around the training ground and I know he still stays in touch with some of the players, even though [I know] it's not been long since he left the club.

"I am sure the fans will give him a great reception."

Fletcher, 31, made over 320 appearances for the club after making his debut in 2003.
