Ryan Giggs explains Juan Mata decision

Manchester United interim manager Ryan Giggs explains his decision to leave out Juan Mata from his starting XI against Norwich City in the Premier League.

Manchester United interim manager Ryan Giggs has stated that he wants to put his own stamp on things, following news that the veteran winger has decided to leave out Juan Mata from his starting XI against Norwich City this evening.

Giggs took temporary charge of the Red Devils after the sacking of David Moyes on Tuesday, with the Welshman also admitting that he wants a fast start in the game at Old Trafford.

"It's been surreal and the hardest part has been leaving players out. To be honest with you I could have picked two teams. It's part of the job and I've got to do it, but leaving players out wasn't nice," Giggs told Sky Sports News ahead of the match.

"With Juan Mata I've gone with two centre-forwards and I want us to get off to a fast start. Fellaini is unfortunate not to make the bench but he will be involved in the coming weeks.

"I want to put my own stamp on things, even if it's just for these four games. I've told the players to enjoy it, express themselves and trust each other. I can't wait for kick off. It will be a proud moment."

United currently find themselves sitting in seventh position in the Premier League table.
