Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has praised the club's youngsters following Monday's 5-2 win over Kitchee in Hong Hong.

Danny Welbeck, Chris Smalling, Adnan Januzaj, Fabio and Jesse Lingard all found the back of the net in the pre-season clash, with Ferdinand taking to Twitter to praise their contribution.

"The youngsters bagged a few nice goals today! Jessie, fabio, Adnan, Smalling & Welbz all notching! Bye Hong Kong, it was cool being here!" he tweeted.

Ferdinand's testimonial is due to take place on August 9 against Sevilla.
