Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Manchester United on Monday, January 4.

The January transfer window is now open, with Manchester United continuing to be linked with a host of big names.

The Red Devils have already agreed a deal to sign Amad Traore, and could look to bolster their ranks further to build on an encouraging first half of the season.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Old Trafford.

Monday morning's Manchester United transfer talk news roundup:

Amad Diallo hints at imminent Manchester United arrival

New Manchester United attacker Amad Diallo has suggested that he will arrive in England in a matter of days by posting an image from inside a plane on social media.

The Red Devils have blocked Atalanta BC's attempts to keep the 18-year-old, who agreed a move to United over the summer, on loan for the remainder of the 2020-21 campaign.

On Sunday, Diallo posted a picture of a plane seat on Instagram, and according to the Manchester Evening News, the attacker is on his way to Rome to complete the final paperwork in relation to a visa.

The teenager will then allegedly fly to Manchester in the middle of next week, meaning that he should be at the club before the FA Cup clash with Watford on January 9.

Diallo, who was born in the Ivory Coast before moving to Italy at a young age, has made two substitute appearances for Atalanta during the 2020-21 campaign.

United will reportedly pay an initial €25m (£22.7m) for the right-sided attacker, but the deal could eventually rise to €40m (£35.5m) due to various add-ons.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer 'wants to offload six first-team Manchester United players in January'

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly keen to offload as many as six first-team players before the end of the January transfer window.

Amad Diallo will arrive at Old Trafford from Atalanta BC this month, having finally received a work permit, but it is otherwise expected to be a quiet window in terms of incomings.

However, according to The Sun, Solskjaer wants to shift Sergio Romero, Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones, Jesse Lingard, Daniel James and Brandon Williams before the end of the month.

Romero, Rojo, Jones and Lingard are all out of favour at Old Trafford and are likely to be available for transfer.

However, James and Williams are still highly rated by Solskjaer despite their lack of action this term and therefore might only be allowed to leave on loan deals for the remainder of the 2020-21 campaign.

The United manager will allegedly sit down with all six players in the coming days to determine the best course of action for each individual.

The 20-time English champions are still said to have an interest in Jadon Sancho but would rather bring his Borussia Dortmund teammate Erling Braut Haaland to the club.
