Luke Shaw to return to action before end of year for Manchester United?

Luke Shaw has reportedly made a swift recovery from injury sustained against Arsenal last month, and could return ahead of schedule against Newcastle United next week.

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw is understood to be in line for a return to action later this month having made a swift recovery from his recent injury setback.

The 19-year-old was ruled out of action for up to six weeks after injuring his ankle in the 2-1 victory over Arsenal on November 22.

However, a report in the Daily Mail claims that Shaw has made good progress since then and could be selected for the Boxing Day clash against Newcastle United at Old Trafford.

Ashley Young is expected to continue playing at left wing-back in the absence of Shaw in this weekend's meeting with former club Aston Villa, where United are looking to record their seventh successive win in the Premier League.
