Roberto Mancini challenges Joe Hart to play better more consistently after he conceded a penalty in Sunday's 2-0 win over Chelsea.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has insisted that Joe Hart can improve his level of performance following yesterday's 2-0 win over Chelsea.

Hart conceded a penalty after fouling Demba Ba but atoned for his error by saving Frank Lampard's effort from the spot.

City responded to Hart's save and went on to claim an important win over the Blues, thanks to goals from Yaya Toure and Carlos Tevez.

Mancini believes that Hart should aim to play at a higher level because of the natural talent he possess.

He told Sky Sports News: "Joe is the best keeper in England and one of the best in Europe.

"I'm pleased he saved the penalty but a keeper like him can do better. When the long ball comes, he should be there.

"I want him to be perfect and he could be if he wants. He is the best."

City currently trail Manchester United by 12 points in the Premier League title race.
