Newcastle United are reportedly one of three Premier League clubs who are looking to secure the signature of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Newcastle United are reportedly one of three Premier League clubs that are interested in signing Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Since joining from Arsenal in 2017, the former England international has made 145 appearances for Liverpool, scoring 20 and providing 32 assists.

However, he has struggled to consistently nail down a starting place in his Liverpool career, which has been hampered by injuries.

Due to a combination of injury issues and selection decisions, Oxlade-Chamberlain has been restricted to 12 competitive appearances this season.

Oxlade-Chamberlain's contract is set to expire in June, and he is reportedly set to leave the club on a free transfer this summer.

According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle are one of three Premier League sides that are considering whether to offer Oxlade-Chamberlain a contract.

With the prospect of European football close to becoming a reality, Newcastle are keen to strengthen their side ahead of the 2023-24 season.

Having scored nine goals and contributed seven assists in 51 Champions League appearances, Oxlade-Chamberlain would certainly bring a wealth of experience to the North-East.

Newcastle are set to face competition from fellow Premier League clubs Aston Villa and Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Seagulls reportedly were weighing up whether to make a move for Oxlade-Chamberlain in the January transfer window.

Brighton ultimately decided against submitting an offer as they were reluctant to pay a fee when he will be available on a free transfer in the summer.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is also attracting interest from Serie A, but he is said to be focused on helping Liverpool's bid to finish in the top four before he makes a decision on his future.

Liverpool occupy sixth position in the Premier League table, and they are currently four points adrift of the Champions League places ahead of Saturday's away meeting with Manchester City.
