Adam Pearson: 'I quit Leeds United to fully focus on Hull FC'

Adam Pearson says that he quit his role as Leeds United executive director because his Super League club, Hull FC, needs his "complete attention".

Adam Pearson has revealed that he quit his role as Leeds United executive director to fully focus on restoring the fortunes of the Super League club he owns, Hull FC.

It was announced after Tuesday's Championship defeat to Ipswich Town that Pearson was stepping down from the role he took up just four months ago.

He has now revealed that he wants Hull FC to engage with the local community and local businesses in a similar way to both the football and rugby league teams in Leeds.

Pearson told the Hull website: "We have a very good management team behind the scenes so I see my role as re-engaging with lapsed and now lost sponsors and our supporters in order to ensure the club is on a sound financial footing for the years to come.

"Hull FC needs my complete attention, so that is what it will get, as we look to take care of some areas of the club in relation to supporters and corporate partners."

Hull, who Pearson bought in 2011, have finished outside the Super League's top eight two years in a row.
