Ipswich Town winger Ryan Fraser wins Football League Young Player of the Month

Bournemouth loanee Ryan Fraser wins August's Football League Young Player of the Month for his performances in an Ipswich Town shirt.

Ipswich Town winger Ryan Fraser has been named the first Football League Young Player of the Month this season.

The 21-year-old, who is on a season-long loan from Bournemouth, started every Championship match for the Blues in August and scored three goals, one of which was a curling winner at Preston North End.

Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy told the Football League's website: "He's an infectious character on and off the pitch, he loves taking defenders on, he can go either way and he's already shown that he has a goal in him.

"He's just a really talented footballer and we are delighted to have him here."

Fraser also put in a man-of-the-match display in Ipswich's midweek win at Leeds United. However, he picked up a slight knock and is a doubt for this evening's home match against Birmingham City.
