Everton's Roberto Martinez bemoans Bryan Oviedo injury

Roberto Martinez laments the serious leg injury that Bryan Oviedo suffered during Everton's clash against Stevenage in the FA Cup.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has said that he hopes that Bryan Oviedo recovers from his injury quickly.

The 23-year-old winger was rushED to hospital with a suspected broken leg during the Toffees' 4-0 away win against Stevenage in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday.

"A real negative today is the unfortunate incident (Bryan Oviedo's injury) and we need to give Bryan as much support as we can now," he told BT Sport. "He's had a terrific season and I've been very impressed with him. He's an important player in the group and he deserves a speedy recovery."

"We always looked a threat on the counter and a threat in front of goal," Martinez said on the match. "It was as good as it gets really in terms of a performance.

"It was a good cup tie, but the injury to Bryan affected everyone. Those types of injuries leave a sick taste."

Steven Naismith scored twice for Everton in their win at the Lamex Stadium.
