West Bromwich Albion have reportedly set their sights on signing Chelsea midfielder Trevoh Chalobah.
The recently-turned 22-year-old has spent the last three seasons out on loan, with his latest switch during the 2020-21 campaign being at Ligue 1 outfit Lorient, where he scored two goals and provided as many assists in 30 appearances.
Prior to his temporary move to France, Chalobah gained experience of the Championship when he had spells with Ipswich Town and Huddersfield Town, in total featuring 79 times in the second tier between the two clubs.
Football Insider reports that Valerien Ismael's new club are keen to sign Chalobah, who looks unlikely to see out the remaining two years of his contract at Stamford Bridge.
West Brom's squad is light in numbers for midfield positions, as last season's loanees Okay Yokuslu and Ainsley Maitland-Niles returned to their parent clubs, and youngster Rekeem Harper also departed the Hawthorns.
However, Ismael completed the signing of Barnsley captain Alex Mowatt last week and he could be partnered in central midfield with Chalobah, who is yet to make his first-team debut for Chelsea.
