Chelsea are reportedly close to agreeing a deal for Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell.
The England international has been persistently linked with a switch to the blue side of London in recent months, although Leicester's hefty asking price was believed to be hindering Chelsea's attempts to strike a deal.
However, according to Sky Sports News, Chelsea are confident of securing Chilwell's signature as early as next week after a breakthrough in talks.
The report claims that Chilwell himself is eager to move to Stamford Bridge and play in the Champions League, although no paperwork has been formally signed as of yet.
Chilwell's proposed arrival leaves the futures of current Chelsea left-backs Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri in doubt, although the latter has supposedly garnered interest from Inter Milan.
Frank Lampard has already acquired attacking duo Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner for the 2020-21 season, and the Blues are also believed to be inching closer towards a deal for Bayer Leverkusen's Kai Havertz.
