Phil Bardsley eyeing repeat surprise win

Sunderland defender Phil Bardsley wants his side to repeat their feat of beating title challengers Manchester City at the Stadium of Light when they face Chelsea on Wednesday.

Sunderland defender Phil Bardsley is eyeing a repeat of his side's win over Manchester City when they face Chelsea at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday.

The Black Cats are unbeaten in their last three home games in all competitions but still find themselves in the bottom three following their goalless draw with Aston Villa at the weekend.

Bardsley told the club's official website: "It's the nature of the Premier League there are no weak teams, you have to pick up points no matter who it is against.

"We managed to do it against Manchester City so there's no reason why we can't do it against Chelsea."

Bardsley scored the winner in Gus Poyet's side's win over City last month.
