Giuseppe Sannino: 'The Bologna result is upsetting'

Carpi coach Giuseppe Sannino believes that his side were unlucky to lose 2-1 late on against Bologna.

Carpi boss Giuseppe Sannino felt that his side did exactly what he asked despite losing 2-1 at home against Bologna.

A late goal from Adam Masina gave the struggling side the three points but the former Watford manager was pleased with what his players gave him during the game, even after his side were reduced to 10 men.

The Italian told Sky Sports Italia: "The result is upsetting, most of all for the players as they played the match I asked of them.

"In terms of numbers, it was all Carpi as we tried to counter because we were reduced to ten-men. We could have brought home a point, but Bologna have great players.

"We have a tough task ahead of us, but I've arrived with my ideas and I can't continue to look back at the past.

"We must fight until the end in order to try and show what we can do in this championship, but I'm happy with how we performed on the field."

The result leaves Carpi at the bottom of the Serie A table with just one win after 10 games.
