Paul Lambert happy with Aston Villa's start to season

Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert says that he is satisfied with his side's start to the Premier League season.

Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert has insisted that he is satisfied with his side's start to the season.

Villa sit in 12th place in the Premier League after taking six points from the opening five games.

Villa bounced back from their defeat to Newcastle United to beat Norwich City 1-0 on Saturday, and Lambert believes that his side have done well.

"It was disappointing last weekend against Newcastle but I am delighted we bounced back this weekend very strongly," Lambert told reporters.

"The start to the season we had was extremely tough with three of the top sides and we ran them very close, beating one of them.

"The new lads will take time to adapt but so far they have been excellent for us."

Villa face Tottenham Hotspur in the League Cup on Tuesday night.
