Leandro Bacuna not dwelling on defeat

Leandro Bacuna warns his Aston Villa teammates not to be too downbeat following Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Everton.

Aston Villa winger Leandro Bacuna has warned his teammates not to be too critical of themselves following Saturday's defeat to Everton in the Premier League.

Bacuna gave Villa the lead at Goodison Park, but late goals from Steven Naismith and Kevin Mirallas saw them slump to an 11th loss of the season.

"I think everybody is a little bit disappointed because we defended really well and we were playing good," he told the club's official website.

"I don't think we should be too down as we were doing great in the last few games and we just need to keep going.

"It is tough but that is life and that's football. When this happens to you and you need to handle it and just go on to the next game."

Villa return to action this Saturday when they entertain relegation candidates West Ham United in the league.
