Arsenal want Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to replace Alexis Sanchez?

Arsenal reportedly reignite their interest in Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as replacement for the outgoing Alexis Sanchez.

Arsenal have reportedly reignited their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as they look to replace the outgoing Alexis Sanchez this month.

The 28-year-old has been a transfer target for many of Europe's elite over the last two seasons due to his fine form for the Bundesliga side, which saw him score 40 goals in 46 appearances last term and 21 in 23 so far this term.

The Gunners were alleged to have had an £80m bid for the Gabon international turned down in summer 2016, although the player's price is now thought to have dropped significantly due to his increasingly-fractured relationship with his club.

Earlier this season Aubameyang found himself suspended for "disciplinary reasons" - allegedly turning up late to training sessions - and has since admitted that he could move on to pastures new this month, saying in a recent interview: "In the winter market a lot can happen."

Arsenal, meanwhile, are likely to lose Sanchez to Manchester City in the next few weeks and according to Calciomercato, Aubameyang is top of manager Arsene Wenger's list of potential replacements.

Chelsea, Liverpool and City have also been linked with renewed interest in Aubameyang in recent months.
