Arsenal have reportedly revived their interest in Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar.
The Gunners have been heavily linked with the highly-rated 22-year-old in recent transfer windows, but ultimately refused to meet Lyon's asking price of £55m.
However, the Ligue 1 outfit have been forced to slash that price tag after missing out on Champions League qualification last season, meaning that Aouar could now be available for as little as £20m.
Metro reports that Arsenal have resumed their pursuit of the France international as a result, with Mikel Arteta keen to bolster his midfield ranks this summer.
Martin Odegaard and Dani Ceballos have both returned to parent club Real Madrid after seeing their loan spells end, while Granit Xhaka, Lucas Torreira, Matteo Guendouzi and Joe Willock have all been linked with permanent moves away from the club.
The report claims that Arsenal will look to coax Aouar to the club with a contract worth £100,000 a week, although Liverpool are also thought to be monitoring his situation at Lyon.
Aouar admitted that the final game of the 2020-21 campaign could have been his last game for the club, whom he has represented his entire career so far.
Aouar has made 170 appearances for Lyon's first team in total, scoring 32 goals and creating 31 more.
