Bob Wilson: 'Jack Wilshere's injury is a massive blow'

Former Arsenal goalkeeper Bob Wilson believes that Jack Wilshere's foot injury is a "massive blow" for the club.

Former Arsenal goalkeeper Bob Wilson has described the foot injury suffered by midfielder Jack Wilshere as a "massive blow".

The England international will be sidelined for at least six weeks due to a hairline fracture in his left foot.

Wilshere suffered the problem as a result of a challenge by Liverpool defender Daniel Agger during England's 1-0 win over Denmark at Wembley on Wednesday night.

"It's a massive blow," Wilson told BBC Radio 5 live. "In a way I'm not surprised having seen the tackle, it was a bad tackle from Agger.

"I'm not saying it was intentional, but Jack Wilshere is the sort of player who has an amazing peripheral vision, he almost tempts people and if they're fractionally late he finishes on the floor many times."

Wilshere stated after the match in London that the foot injury was "only a bruise".
